Woodloch Pines & the Scranton / Wilkes-Barre RailRiders

Woodloch Resort is excited to announce the 5th Annual Pinstripes Golf Classic to be held, once again, at the Country Club at Woodloch Springs. The event will take place on Wednesday, June 12th, 2013 with a 9 AM shotgun start. The annual tournament has established great success since its inception, allowing the public to golf with their favorite minor league baseball players. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Northeastern PA affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, combining the powerful resources of two Northeastern PA companies to benefit our families, friends and neighbors.

This fun-filled day will feature:

  • "Breakfast-on-the-Go" - sandwhiches and bagels to fuel your day
  • 9 AM Shotgun start on 18 challenging holes as you golf with the pros!
  • Snack stations along the course
  • Upon completion of the tournament, a cocktail hour featuring open bar, hors d'oeuvres and crudite.
  • Raffles, silent auctions, and presentations from the RailRiders organization and Woodloch.
  • A four-course dinner featuring chicken, beef and fish entrees, as well as pasta, salads and desserts.

Owned and operated by the Kiesendahl Family, since 1958, Woodloch celebrates over fifty-years of excellence and a tradition of warm hospitality, the award-winning resort is an oasis of recreation and relaxation for all ages. In addition to the family-style setting of the resort, Woodloch hosts a wide range of corporate and group functions including many Fortune 500 companies.

The Country Club at Woodloch Springs is nationally recognized by GOLF Magazine as "One of the Finest Courses in America" and rated “4.5 Stars” by Golf Digest’s Best Places to Play.  Their 18-hole, championship, par-72, Poconos golf course winds its challenging way over 6,579 yards of fern-carpeted forest, lush wetlands and broad upland meadows.  The outstanding signature 14th hole requires a dramatic 220-yard carry over “Hells Gate Gorge” which is carved from the Poconos rugged mountainside by rushing water some 200 feet below.  Four sets of tees and alternating pin placements provide a variety of challenges, accommodating all levels of play.

The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders are the Triple-A affiliate of major league baseball's New York Yankees. The RailRiders' inaugural season gets underway with the grand reopening of PNC Field on April 4 when the defending IL champion Pawtucket Red Sox come to town for a rematch of their 2012 playoff clash with SWB. More information on the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees can be found at www.swbrailriders.com or by calling 570.969.2255.
