Woodloch Springs to host its annual baseball-themed golf tournament with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders players teaming up with local golfers
Hawley, PA, March 6, 2018 – The abundance of recent major snowstorms in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains have made for a busy winter at Woodloch Pines, an all-inclusive family resort located in Northeast Pennsylvania. With that being said, the esteemed property is looking forward to the warmer spring and summer seasons, signaling the re-opening of the resort’s golf course at Woodloch Springs as well as the start of one of America’s favorite past times, baseball. What better way to celebrate the arrival of beautiful weather than to spend a day on the golf course with players and coaches from the region’s minor league baseball team, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, Triple-A affiliate of the New York Yankees?
Woodloch Springs, home to an award-winning 18-hole championship golf course, is excited to announce that it will host the 10th Annual Pinstripes Golf Classic on June 18, 2018. The tournament is an 18-hole scramble featuring an amateur foursome plus one current Scranton-Wilkes Barre RailRiders player or coach. Proceeds from this year’s tournament will support Pediatric Rehabilitation at Allied Services, an agency providing healthcare rehabilitation and support services to the Northeast Pennsylvania region.
Woodloch Springs, nationally recognized by GOLF Magazine as “one of the finest courses in America” and rated “4.5 Stars” by Golf Digest’s Best Places to Play, is located just an hour east of Scranton, making the pairing a natural fit. Each team will have one member of the RailRiders as their captain and the opportunity to spend a day hearing stories and bonding with players. The cost for each player is $250.00 or $1000.00 for a full foursome and many valuable sponsorship opportunities. Included in each golfer’s entry fee are: 18 holes of golf, a gift bag, special on-course refreshments and concessions, lunch, cocktails, dinner, awards and a raffle prize. There will be awards and prizes, Yankees memorabilia and a chance to mingle with SWB RailRiders and baseball legends of the past both on and off the course.
“We are thrilled to celebrate 10 years of success with the Pinstripes Tournament and are looking forward to the best one yet come June 18th! The day always proves to be a lot of fun and festivity, with chances to spend real time with the players, enjoy some delicious food and drinks, get out for a beautiful day on the greens, and support a great cause,” remarked Lisa Hugaboom, Woodloch’s Director of Corporate Sales and tournament co-organizer.
The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders are the Triple-A affiliate of the New York Yankees. The RailRiders home opener kicks off April 6th at PNC Field against the Syracuse Chiefs.
