Poconos Family Resort Recognizes Employees at Annual Staff Appreciation Meeting
Woodloch Pines celebrates its employees who have providing dedicated service at the resort for 10 Years or more.
May 31, 2017, Hawley PA – On May 7th, Woodloch Pines, an all-inclusive family resort in the Pocono Mountains, held its annual Spring Staff Appreciation meeting. The Kiesendahl Family, who have owned and operated the business since 1958, took the time to recognize and reward its loyal employees who have worked there for 10 years or more. Of the nearly 1,100 part and full-time workers, 195 have served the company for at least a decade. Considering that the hospitality industry is well-known for its high turnover rate, this is certainly a notable accomplishment.
During the meeting, nearly 20% of Woodloch’s employees were recognized for at least 10 years of dedicated service, and 80 of these staff members have worked for the family resort for at least 20 years. Employees were given both gift certificates and golden nametags in recognition of their service. Two staff members were also honored with the annual Aunt Mary and Aunt Marge Awards, named as a tribute to two of the founding matriarchs of Woodloch, Mary Kiesendahl and Marge Kranich, respectively representing a front-of-house employee and a back-of-house employee. The awards are meant to recognize employees who routinely go above and beyond the call of duty to give Woodloch guests an outstanding vacation experience. This year’s recipients were Ellen Dunn from Landscaping and Russ Charles from Safety Services. The evening concluded with a party at The Country Club at Woodloch Springs.
In addition, the family resort honored 35 of its staff members at its 25 Year Dinner at The Clubhouse at Woodloch Springs on April 26, 2017. The annual dinner is a tribute to those who have loyally served the company for 25 years or more. The meal takes place at The Vista Room, and the evening consists of speeches made and gifts given to staff by the Kiesendahl family to show their gratitude. Staff are individually recognized for their longtime commitment to the company in an intimate setting where they are also able to relax and enjoy a nice meal with their fellow coworkers.

It is amazing to think how far we have come since we originally opened, and our staff are central to that achievement,” said John Kiesendahl, President and C.E.O. of Woodloch Pines.
