For over 58 years, the Kiesendahl family has owned and operated Woodloch Pines Resort, and has worked very hard to grow Woodloch into what it is today.  The family of properties operated by Woodloch includes a year-round family resort- Woodloch Pines, an award winning championship golf course- Woodloch Springs, and a luxury destination spa- The Lodge at Woodloch.  The Kiesendahl Family’s commitment to excellence shows in the hands-on running of daily operations, as they embody what it means to treat guests as if they were company in their own homes.  The original founders, Harry and Mary Kiesendahl, passed along their passion and traditions to their children and grandchildren to provide memorable experiences to thousands of families each and every year for generation upon generation.  The Kiesendahl family has always understood the importance of community.  Each family member is an active member of the local community and serve on many chambers and boards.

John Kiesendahl is the eldest son of Harry and Mary, and is the President and CEO of Woodloch.  He attended Cornell University’s Hotel school and joined the Navy before deciding to make Woodloch his career.  He is best known for greeting guests personally during meals and wearing the “funny” pants (he has custom-tailored pants featuring many different children’s characters).  He continues to provide the company with leadership and enthusiasm every day.  John serves on the Board of Directors for the Dime Bank, is an active member of the School Board, and he is also Vice President of the Pocono Mountain Visitors Bureau.  His wife, Patti, is also very active within Woodloch, and is responsible for the Woodloch Gift Shops and decorating around the resort.  Together, they have seven children: Bob, Matt, Brad, Brooke, Megan, Patrick, and Olivia, and are proud to say that five of them are active within the organization.

Steven Kiesendahl, the youngest son of Harry and Mary, is the Director of Sales and Marketing of Woodloch.  Steven attended the University of Scranton with a degree in business administration.  Steven’s critical role has kept the Woodloch Pines at a record breaking annual occupancy rate of over 85%.  Steven Kiesendahl is on the Board of Directors at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Third Generation:

Bob Kiesendahl, the eldest member of the third generation, is the Food & Beverage Director of Woodloch Pines and the Lodge at Woodloch, and also oversees the Human Resources Department.  Bob is a cancer survivor and is the founder of BK Hope Cures, a foundation that donates to several foundations including Lance Armstrong’s LiveStrong Foundation, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and many more.  The BK effort organizes many of the large local events, including the BK Hope Cures 5K Walk/Run, Swimathon, Golf Tournament, Tricky Tray, and Motorcycle Ride.  In 2006, Bob was the recipient of the LiveStrong Challenge Survivorship Award, a very prestigious honor that is given to few individuals.  Bob has three sons: Zachary, Luke, and Drew whom are the start of the fourth generation at Woodloch.

Matt Kiesendahl, John’s second oldest son, is the Director of Services at Woodloch Springs. His responsibilities include: managing the Clubhouse, overseeing our championship golf course and the Springs Sports complex. He and Tiffany have a daughter, Devon, and a son, Sam.

Brad Kiesendahl returned home to Woodloch after eight years with the Four Seasons Hotel Corporation.  His time away enabled him to bring home many great ideas for improving Woodloch as a whole.  Brad is the Director of Rooms, Recreation, and Technology, and currently serves on the Hawley Silk Mill Advisory Board and the Board of Directors for the Lackawaxen Fire Hall.  Brad and his wife, Jennifer, have two sons, Edward and Anthony Kiesendahl.
