What to Do on a Poconos Summer Vacation

There’s no better way to reconnect and spend quality time together as a family than on a Poconos summer vacation at Woodloch. Our family-friendly resort is filled with endless adventure that appeals to kids of all ages. No matter how long your stay with us is, you’re sure to never run out of memorable and fun things to do. To help you craft your perfect stay, we’ve put together a sample itinerary for a three-day vacation.
Day 1
How much you can do on your first day, depending on when you arrive. After checking in and dropping your bags off in your well-appointed room, enjoy a delicious meal in one of our three dining rooms. After a tasty dinner, spend some time simply exploring the property to get a feel for where different activities and amenities are. We recommend going to bed early this first night so you’re well-rested for a full day of fun.
Day 2
This is the day to fit in as many activities as possible. However, don’t overschedule your group to the point where it feels like you have no time to enjoy this time together. With over 30 scheduled daily activities plus things to do in the surrounding Poconos area, you have plenty of adventures to choose from.
- Take part in Woodloch’s Amazing Race. Teams of no more than eight people will compete in this action-packed game that combines search lists, physical challenges, and puzzles.
- Say hello to the sheep, baby cows, rabbits, lambs, and sheep at our petting zoo. There are also ponies that our younger visitors can ride.
- Board our Bumper Boats and enjoy a bit of friendly competition on the open water. Use the hydro cannon for maximum soakage.
- Go for a ride on Lake Teedyuskung. We offer a number of family-friendly boat options, including rowboats and paddle boats.
- Take a break for something sweet and visit Harry’s Lakeside Scoops. Stop by our on-site ice cream shop to create your perfect sundae.
- Surround yourself with the beauty of the Poconos on local hiking trails. There are several places to go hiking near our resort, including Prompton State Park and the Dorflinger-Suydam Wildlife Sanctuary.
- End your day by checking out one of the nightly family-friendly shows. We offer a number of live entertainment options, including children’s entertainment, magicians, and variety shows.
Day 3
Your final day is all about squeezing in as much last-minute fun as possible. Get up early to cast your line from our fishing dock, or let your kids burn off some energy at one of our playgrounds. Before heading out, stop by the Market at Woodloch to stock up on snacks for your drive home.
