Cool Off at Lakes in the Poconos
There are plenty of ways to beat the summer heat when vacationing at Woodloch, like enjoying our on-site aquatic fun. However, no summer vacation is complete without spending time out on the water. Luckily, for families and groups staying at our resort, you are close to several stunning and expansive lakes in the Poconos. Keep reading to learn more about some of our favorite nearby bodies of water.
A Guide to 3 Local Pennsylvania Lakes
The Pocono Mountains region is home to breathtaking scenery, including picturesque lakes. During your next summer escape at our Pennsylvania resort, spend a day out on the water, soaking in the sunshine at one of these three spots.
- Our resort is found on the shores of Lake Teedyuskung. The lake has roughly three miles of shoreline and can reach as deep as 30 feet. Explore the lake on one of our rowboats, kayaks, or sailboats. You can also go for a guided boat tour.
- Another popular option is Lake Wallenpaupack, one of the state’s largest reservoirs. Measuring 13 miles long with 52 miles of shoreline, there is plenty of room to go water skiing, boating, and wakeboarding.
- If you’re planning a visit to Promised Land State Park, be sure to spend time out on Promised Land Lake. The 422-acre Pennsylvania lake is ideal for fishing and an array of water activities. The state park is also home to the smaller Lower Lake, which is stocked with a variety of trout.
