Poconos Paintball Adventures – Outdoor Paintball near Me | Woodloch

Woodloch’s Blog

Keep up-to-date with all things Woodloch on our blog featuring exclusive recipes, heartwarming stories, lifestyle content, contests and more.

Fast-Paced, Woodloch-Style Poconos Paintball Adventures

In 2012, Woodloch introduced a new, ultra-competitive Poconos paintball adventure to our already colossal list of homegrown activities. Because paintball requires more technology and upkeep in comparison to most on-site activities, contests are not included in our all-inclusive packages. The small fee, wine tasting, and fishing adventures, is well worth it regardless of your skill level. While utilizing elements of strategy, communication, and teamwork, kids and adults alike can enhance their hand-eye coordination in a super-fast, safe atmosphere.

Setting the Scene: A Classic Poconos Backdrop

Before we march into our three unique Poconos paintball contests, it’s important to properly set the scene. The warzone is situated along the rim of dense forestry on Woodloch’s upper athletic field. The field itself boasts stacks of aging tires, hefty rounded bales of hay, makeshift wooden barricades, and colorful oil drums. Brightly-colored officials scamper through the area to ensure fair play. All players wear matching camouflage. The only thing that separates the two teams is the colored band wrapped around each player’s left bicep. Let the “Great Battle of Hawley” commence! Can you feel the heat?!?

3 Unique Poconos Paintball Matches

To ensure that each contest is entirely distinct, Woodloch’s leadership team supervises three types of matches: “Speedball,” “Elimination,” and good, old-fashioned “Capture the Flag.” Elimination, also known as “Survivor,” is all about the last boy or girl standing. By now, you likely know the general spirit of Capture the Flag. As you might imagine, Capture the Flag is the lengthiest of the three match types. Speedball, meanwhile, kicks things up a notch by forcing paintballers to cross over into enemy territory. It’s a cross between the other match types. Our team does its best to match groups based on age or skill level.

Pocono Mountain Resorts: Fast-Paced Family Fun!

Combine an hour of shriek-inducing Poconos paintball with a puzzling journey through an escape room, and several laps around our twisty go-cart track. Fast-paced family fun is around every corner here along the banks of serene Lake Teedyuskung! Hopefully, your search for “outdoor paintball near me” led you to our 1,200-acre family resort, America’s top-ranked getaway. Unlike most mountain resorts in Pennsylvania, Woodloch is centered on family bonding, classic camp thrills, and world-class hospitality. To learn more about our award-winning slice of the Pocono Mountains, please visit us online. We’re currently offering some of our most outrageous specials ever!

Poconos | Extreme Sports to Try This Fall at Woodloch Resort

Extreme Sports to Try This Fall at Woodloch

Tourists from all over the Northeast visit a secluded, beautiful 1,000-acre resort nestled deep in the heart of the Poconos for family fun, supreme relaxation, and extreme outdoor sports. That world-class family resort is Woodloch, the number one all-inclusive retreat in North America. We have over a dozen extreme onsite activities ideal for families with teens. Challenge yourself on the 30-foot climbing wall. Race through the Pennsylvania wilderness on a go-kart. Play an exhilarating game of survivor paintball. Or square off against family and friends influenced by dodgeball with “Archery Tag!’

Paintball Adventures

Depending upon who you ask, Woodloch’s paintball adventures are the most exhilarating activity on our grounds. We offer three distinct games: speedball, capture the flag, and survivor. Speedball is a two-team battle against the clock. The small field has various inflatable bunkers for strategic purposes. Capture the flag has become a popular variation of paintball where the rules are identical to the 150-year-old game. The winner of survivor paintball is the last person standing. Paintballers must be at least 11 years old to participate.

The Peak of Your Family Vacation

While you don’t have to be an experienced climber to conquer our 30-foot climbing wall, it is an extremely challenging structure that will test over a dozen muscles. Bring your “A” game because most intermediate climbers don’t make it five feet on their first try. If you’re able to reach the top of our steep tower, the views from the top are glorious – the perfect prize for reaching the peak! Climbers must weigh between 75 and 235 pounds.

Little Pocono Raceway

Woodloch Resort has two go-kart tracks that snake through the vast Pennsylvania wilderness. Our tracks aren’t nearly as exciting as the triangle at Pocono Raceway, one of the best super-speedways in the world, but our guests usually spend hours on the Little Pocono. The Pocono 400 is only 50 miles southwest of our woodland paradise! Jeff Gordon has won the Pocono 400 more than any other race car driver, which is why we have a replica DuPont #24 car at Little Pocono. Racers must be at least four feet tall to drive.

Pocono Mountains Resorts

With so many extreme outdoor sports, Woodloch Resort has become the number one all-inclusive family vacation in the Northeast. Spend your afternoons shooting, climbing, and racing, then indulge in a delicious dinner at one of our great restaurants. Find a deluxe guestroom, suite, or home that’s perfect for the whole family. A family escape to Woodloch is closer than you think. Visit our website today to learn more about our 65-year-old, family-run business!

Prepare for Battle – Paintball Adventures Invade Woodloch! | Woodloch Resort

Paintball Adventures Invade Woodloch

Perhaps the best thing about being a child is the fact that your life and career goals are wide open. You can literally be ANYTHING! Your imagination leads you to believe that being a princess or a Jedi knight aren’t fantasies but career options (I, for one, longed to be Batman). Then somewhere along the line reality sets in, and most of us give up on these occupational dreams, which is a bummer.

Yet this cloud of reality has a silver lining, and it can be found right here in Hawley. At Woodloch Pines Resort, it’s perfectly acceptable (and some might say encouraged) to revert to your inner eight-year-old. Woodloch’s newest activity, our Paintball Adventures, appeals to the soldier, cowboys, and cops and robbers within all of us!

Though we have offered target shooting with paintball guns for years, this marks the first time that we will be offering outdoor competitive play. Situated amidst a scenic Pocono backdrop on our upper athletic field are obstacles that provide plenty of cover against enemy fire, yet a team needs to aggressively advance if they have any desire to win one of our three types of games.

  • In our SPEEDBALL competition, your team starts at one end of our field and your opponents begin at the opposite. Players must attempt to cross to the opposing team’s base without getting shot.
  • The classic CAPTURE THE FLAG event has players infiltrating enemy territory to secure their flag, and bring it back across the line to your home base.
  • And last but not least, SURVIVOR (or ELIMINATION) is an all-out battle until the end. The last player standing takes the win for their team!

All games will be arranged so that players of different sizes, strengths and athletic abilities can play competitively!

This is an adventure has been something guests have been asking about for years, and we are just as excited as you are to finally be able to offer this! Behind all of the adrenaline-fueled fun are elements of teamwork, strategy and communication, which also makes this activity a great team-building opportunity!

So get your G.I. Joe collection out of storage, dust off your old cowboy hat, and throw on your ghillie suit because The Great Battle of Hawley will be lasting all summer long!
