How to Prep for Your Poconos Weekend Trip

Whether planning a spontaneous getaway or a vacation that’s months in the making, there’s no better place to create lifelong memories than The Pines, Family Resort at Woodloch. Our all-inclusive resort in Pennsylvania is home to endless adventures the whole family will love. However, before you can start having fun, there is a bit of prep work you need to do to ensure your Poconos weekend trip is the best it can be.
1. Personal Experience Enhancers
When you think of pre-trip prep, the first thing on your mind is probably packing. However, there are other things you can do that’ll help enhance your experience. Print the daily activity schedules ahead of time so you can circle must-do events. Create a family playlist for car rides, downtime, and mealtimes. You can also pick up a small journal or scrapbook to capture firsts and memories, like your kids’ first boat ride or silliest family photo.
2. Make the Most of On-Site Activities
Our Poconos resort has over 30 activities scheduled daily, all designed around togetherness, competition, and fun. Try interactive contests and pool games led by our friendly social staff. Create the perfect keepsake at arts and crafts sessions. Try new games like shuffleboard and bocce ball, which are perfect for mixed age groups.
3. Think Outside the Box
Add a bit of extra fun to an already jam-packed agenda by creating your own theme days. Pick a day when everyone has to dress in a theme, like Retro Day, and look for activities that fit the throwback vibes. Another way to add to the adventures is by venturing off-site to explore nearby spots like downtown Hawley.
4. Put Together the Perfect Packing List
Once you’ve done all of the above, now is the time to put together your packing list. Having an idea of what you might get up to during your stay can help inform what goes in your suitcase. If you’re planning on hiking around our property or a nearby state park like Promised Land State Park, you’ll want hiking boots or sturdy tennis shoes and a backpack that can hold water and snacks. 5. Research Our All-Inclusive Offerings

Make sure you are taking full advantage of everything in our inclusive experience by reviewing what’s included. Not only will you have access to our on-site activities and well-appointed accommodations, but you’ll also enjoy a meal plan with two to three meals daily.
