  1. Head to downtown Hawley to stock up on sweet treats from Penny Land Candies & Candles.
  2. Plan a day trip to Scranton to visit the Everhart Museum, the region’s only natural history, art, and science museum.
  3. For indoor fun that still has you surrounded by breathtaking views, go for a ride with The Stourbridge Line.
  4. Visit other museums in the area, like the Zane Grey Museum or Dorfliger-Suydam.

  1. Costa’s Family Fun Park is one of the most popular seasonal attractions. Go for a ride on the water slides or race go-karts. There’s also laser tag, mini golf, and bumper boats.
  2. Found in Lake Ariel, Lacawac Sanctuary Field Station and Environmental Education Center is an outdoor enthusiast’s haven. There are over nine miles of hiking trails that’ll take you through wetlands and woods.
  3. Head to the intersection of Main and Fourth Streets in Honesdale to view The Great Wall of Honesdale. The installation changes annually, so you can always discover new works of art.
  4. Catch a glimpse of the Woodledge Covered Bridge. Situated over a lake in Hawley, the structure is a piece of Poconos history.
  5. Dorflinger-Suydam is filled with several different spots to explore. This attraction features a glass museum and wildlife sanctuary. 
  6. Take a walk on the wild side at Claws ‘N’ Paws Wild Animal Park. The Poconos zoo is home to over 120 rare and exotic animal species.
  7. Cross state lines into Narrowsburg, New York, and you’ll discover the Tusten Stone Arch Bridge. Constructed in 1896, the bridge is publicly accessible along the beginning section of the Tusten Mountain Trail.

A Guide to Halloween Events in the Poconos

There’s no shortage of family-friendly Halloween events in and around our Poconos resort. To help you plan your visit, we’ve compiled a list of must-visit experiences.

  • Book your tickets on The Stourbridge Line’s Pumpkin Patch Express Boo Bash. The one-day event at the end of October features a scenic train ride to a pumpkin patch where kids can pick a pumpkin to bring home. 
  • If you’re feeling brave, head out into the woods for a Haunted Walk. The annual tradition makes its return with new tricks and scares. We do not recommend this activity for children under 10.
  • Our popular Olympics take on a seasonal twist with the Halloween Olympics. This favorite family activity will have you working together to see which team comes out on top.
  • Be sure to pack the costumes! We will host a variety of costume parties throughout the season.
  • Another spooky spectacle is the ghost tour through Honesdale. Your guided outing will start at the Wayne Country Library and travel along North Main Street to some of the most haunted spots in town. This activity is not recommended for younger children.
