Summer is right around the corner, and we are preparing for another incredible season at Woodloch. Summer brings our annual carnival where your family can try their luck at games to win fun prizes and souvenirs. This year we are hosting the British Mania Woodloch Carnival every week from May through September. Gather your family and friends and join us for classic carnival games with a twist like board games and mini pinball. See if you have what it takes to win at Woodloch this summer!

British Mania Carnival

Every summer, we develop a new and unique theme for our carnivals at Woodloch. We travel across the pond this year and bring British Mania to our family resort. Compete in our games to win golden tickets for items at our prize booth. We will be listing our available items online and on the Woodloch app soon so you can see what you can win! Here are a few games you can expect this summer:

  • Message in a Bottle: This is the classic floating duck pond game where you pick a duck to win a prize
  • Zombies: Celebrate the time of the season with fun, family-friendly board games
  • Eyes Without a Face: This carnival game involves shooting a ball off a board into different holes for points
  • Yellow Submarine: We couldn’t have British mania without a Beatles reference. Yellow Submarine is a putting game the whole family will love.
  • Name that Tune: Test your music knowledge with our carnival edition of Name that Tune
  • Pinball Wizard: Who is a pinball wizard? You are with our mini-pinball game!
  • Iron Maiden: This game is like PLINKO only with an exciting twist.

A Summer of Rock N Roll at Woodloch

Our British Mania Carnival will feature entertainment in the evening as well. After you’ve collected all your tickets from the day, head inside for live music. We are excited to welcome Xtreme Queen, one of the best tribute bands, to our resort this summer! This Queen tribute band will rock the stage all summer long with featured hits like Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You, and Radio Gaga.

At first glance, you might think that the tropical shores of Fiji and the forested hills of Northeast Pennsylvania don’t have much in common. And for the most part, you’d be right.

Look a little bit closer at the situation, though, and you might be surprised. Both are splendid travel destinations- just ask Tommy Sheehan.

After months competing against castaways on CBS’s legendary “Survivor,” Tom endured both mental and physical challenges to be crowned Season 39’s champion.Woodloch guests and staff alike viewed the season with particular intrigue. After all, Tom and his family had visited our resort for 20 years.

After months competing against castaways on CBS’s legendary “Survivor,” Tom endured both mental and physical challenges to be crowned Season 39’s champion.Woodloch guests and staff alike viewed the season with particular intrigue. After all, Tom and his family had visited our resort for 20 years.

“I played Woodloch’s ‘Survivor’ Games on the lake when I was 8 years old, and now I got to play the real thing and take home the trophy. It’s a dream come true. I’ve watched the show since season one, and now I’m one of 38 winners.”

Woodloch will host their first ever “Survival Weekend” on March 25th – 27th, 2022. In addition to season 39 champion Tommy, he will be joined by Jamal Shipman, Janet Carbin, Lauren Beck, and season 32 Champion Michele Fitzgerald in what promises to be a truly memorable event.

“I’m excited. On that island, I was dreaming of that crumb cake and Scandinavian Pancakes. (Woodloch’s) where I trained, where I practiced all of those silly games. I’m coming back, and bringing some friends with me. Survival Weekend is going to be a BLAST.”

Planned events include meet & greet, “tribal council” bonfires, Q&A panels, and of course, a little bit of competition. Castmates will guest referee some our highlight events, and even compete in a few themselves!

“All I need is crumb cake, and I’m IN for the weekend,” says Tommy. “No more starving on the island… I can’t wait.”

In the past few years, the popularity of escape rooms has exploded across the country. But, what exactly is an escape room anyway? Well, they are real-life adventure games where you will receive a mission to solve in a creatively themed room. Think escaping alien abduction or fighting off flesh-eating zombies. At Woodloch, we have two fun and immersive escape rooms that put your skills to the test. So, gather the family, tackle the challenges, and see if you have what it takes to get out in time!

Deja Vu Escape Room

For 2022 we are excited to release our newest escape room in the Poconos at Woodloch. The Deja Vu Escape Room will be a roller coaster through the decades from the ‘50s to the 2000s! When you enter the space, you will be transported to 1958, when Woodloch opened its doors for the first time. From here, you will have one hour to search for the lost time capsules that are spread throughout the decades. Without your help, we are at risk of jumbling our history forever. Follow us on Facebook and share your creative ideas; you might get to name our newest escape room!

If You Only Had a Brain

Our second escape room transports you to the magical land of Oz, where you will have 60 minutes to make it to the Emerald Castle. Help the beloved characters, Lion, Scarecrow, and Tin Man, along the way and find your way back to Woodloch. This challenge will take more than tapping your shoes three times to win!
