Late summer is one of the best times of the year to plan a vacation to The Pines, Family Resort at Woodloch. The days are long, the lake is warm, and our resort is buzzing with an end-of-summer energy that’s almost magical. On the Water

Even if you are visiting at the very end of the season, you can still enjoy aquatic fun. Spend time on Lake Teedyuskung on one of our rental boats, including kayaks and rowboats. You can also go fishing off the docks, which are one of our signature amenities, but make sure you purchase a fishing license ahead of time. Try the bumper boats, a great option if you don’t want to be out on the lake but are still looking for something to do in the water.

Thrilling Activities

If you’re looking for some fun on dry land that’s a bit thrilling, you’re in luck. Our resort in Pennsylvania includes several activities that fit the bill. See if you can tackle our 30-foot climbing wall. For some fast-paced fun, race go-karts. See how you do at archery tag, a twist on a classic childhood game.

Off-Site Fun

In between all the on-site things to do, there’s plenty to do off the resort, all within a roughly 30-minute drive. Go for a scenic drive with the Pennsylvania Rail Bike, an electric-assisted railbike that takes you along the Lackawaxen River. Explore downtown Hawley, where you’ll find a Main Street lined with charming shops and cafes. Browse the Hawley Farmers Market, which is open on Fridays from May through October and is a great place to find local goodies.

You can also explore the lake on one of our kayaks or sailboats. Those 13 and older can explore on their own, while children 7 and up can ride as a passenger.

Luckily, for families and groups staying at our resort, you are close to several stunning and expansive lakes in the Poconos. A Guide to 3 Local Pennsylvania Lakes

The Pocono Mountains region is home to breathtaking scenery, including picturesque lakes. During your next summer escape at our Pennsylvania resort, spend a day out on the water, soaking in the sunshine at one of these three spots.

Our resort is found on the shores of Lake Teedyuskung. The lake has roughly three miles of shoreline and can reach as deep as 30 feet. Explore the lake on one of our rowboats, kayaks, or sailboats. You can also go for a guided boat tour.
Another popular option is Lake Wallenpaupack, one of the state’s largest reservoirs. Measuring 13 miles long with 52 miles of shoreline, there is plenty of room to go water skiing, boating, and wakeboarding.
If you’re planning a visit to Promised Land State Park, be sure to spend time out on Promised Land Lake. The 422-acre Pennsylvania lake is ideal for fishing and an array of water activities. The state park is also home to the smaller Lower Lake, which is stocked with a variety of trout.
