A Poconos Fall Foliage Guide: Woodloch Edition

We’re on the cusp of yet another vibrant autumn here at Woodloch, the top-rated family resort in North America. As summer subtly dissipates, the Pocono Mountains transform from various hues of green to a jaw-dropping blend of marigold, amber, kelly, and crimson. Autumn remains one of our most beloved seasons, primarily because of the resort’s diverse array of seasonal, all-inclusive activities, including pumpkin painting, scarecrow decorating, and haunted walks. However, sometimes the sheer beauty of the region is all the fuel you need to enjoy your long-awaited escape from New York City, Philadelphia, or Washington D.C. This handy Poconos fall foliage guide shines a light on various aspects of a Woodloch-flavored autumn getaway. Keep reading to learn more!

But, of course, there are over a dozen classic activities that go hand in hand with autumn’s arrival. After all, most pursuits only grow more desirable when combined with a kaleidoscope of colorful Poconos fall foliage. Click the links below to learn more about each on-site activity.

  1. Championship golf

Poconos Summer Camp – Summer Camps near NYC | Woodloch

Woodloch’s Blog

Keep up-to-date with all things Woodloch on our blog featuring exclusive recipes, heartwarming stories, lifestyle content, contests and more.

Woodloch: The Ultimate Poconos “Summer Camp”

Finding the ultimate Poconos summer camp, complete with bonfires, nature hikes, seemingly countless hours in the lake, and budding friendships, has never been easier. Enter Woodloch, the top-rated family resort in North America. While Woodloch is widely beloved for its family-focused, homegrown programming, guests also enjoy our sprawling, 1,200-acre lakeside setting as a place to laugh, learn, grow, and bond.

A Unique Poconos Summer Camp: What’s the Occasion?

Woodloch isn’t a typical Poconos summer camp that pulls adolescents from their families for a couple of weeks. At its core, our four-season respite helps foster family bonding in a variety of ways, including team-building activities, family-style dining, and after-dark entertainment. That being said, Woodloch wears many hats. We also cater to groups of all shapes and sizes from Manhattan to Philadelphia and Allentown. So, what’s the occasion? We’ve hosted a wide-ranging variety of uniquely-designed Poconos summer camps, including Girl and Boy Scout trips, multi-family gatherings, church groups, team banquets, homeschool trips, STEM-centered outings, and some of the best birthday parties imaginable.

A Bevy of Classic Camp Activities

Photo a Kayakers on Lake Teedyuskung, Home to the Finest Poconos Summer Camp.

As one of the top-reviewed overnight summer camps in Pennsylvania, we’ve meticulously curated dozens of homegrown activities that are meant to look and feel like classic camp-like activities. After all, the landscape that hugs Lake Teedyuskung was once home to multiple Poconos summer camps, including a horseback outpost and a weight-loss retreat. Naturally, this private, 15-acre lake, as well as the surrounding forestry, procures thoughts of the good old days where kids would come of age amid Mother Nature’s embrace.

Thankfully, Woodloch is as customizable as any other Poconos summer camp. Not only can children water ski, swim, row, paddle, and sail atop this serene lake, but the shoreline is where much of the magic happens, including the crowd-pleasing Summer Olympic games, speedy go-cart races, and countless craft-related workshops. Much like most summer camps near NYC, the kids can also hike in the surrounding wilderness, play over a dozen unique sports as we;; as brain-teasing games, and learn new skills.

Poconos Paintball Adventures – Outdoor Paintball near Me | Woodloch

Woodloch’s Blog

Keep up-to-date with all things Woodloch on our blog featuring exclusive recipes, heartwarming stories, lifestyle content, contests and more.

Fast-Paced, Woodloch-Style Poconos Paintball Adventures

In 2012, Woodloch introduced a new, ultra-competitive Poconos paintball adventure to our already colossal list of homegrown activities. Because paintball requires more technology and upkeep in comparison to most on-site activities, contests are not included in our all-inclusive packages. The small fee, wine tasting, and fishing adventures, is well worth it regardless of your skill level. While utilizing elements of strategy, communication, and teamwork, kids and adults alike can enhance their hand-eye coordination in a super-fast, safe atmosphere.

Setting the Scene: A Classic Poconos Backdrop

Before we march into our three unique Poconos paintball contests, it’s important to properly set the scene. The warzone is situated along the rim of dense forestry on Woodloch’s upper athletic field. The field itself boasts stacks of aging tires, hefty rounded bales of hay, makeshift wooden barricades, and colorful oil drums. Brightly-colored officials scamper through the area to ensure fair play. All players wear matching camouflage. The only thing that separates the two teams is the colored band wrapped around each player’s left bicep. Let the “Great Battle of Hawley” commence! Can you feel the heat?!?

3 Unique Poconos Paintball Matches

To ensure that each contest is entirely distinct, Woodloch’s leadership team supervises three types of matches: “Speedball,” “Elimination,” and good, old-fashioned “Capture the Flag.” Elimination, also known as “Survivor,” is all about the last boy or girl standing. By now, you likely know the general spirit of Capture the Flag. As you might imagine, Capture the Flag is the lengthiest of the three match types. Speedball, meanwhile, kicks things up a notch by forcing paintballers to cross over into enemy territory. It’s a cross between the other match types. Our team does its best to match groups based on age or skill level.

Pocono Mountain Resorts: Fast-Paced Family Fun!

Combine an hour of shriek-inducing Poconos paintball with a puzzling journey through an escape room, and several laps around our twisty go-cart track. Fast-paced family fun is around every corner here along the banks of serene Lake Teedyuskung! Hopefully, your search for “outdoor paintball near me” led you to our 1,200-acre family resort, America’s top-ranked getaway. Unlike most mountain resorts in Pennsylvania, Woodloch is centered on family bonding, classic camp thrills, and world-class hospitality. To learn more about our award-winning slice of the Pocono Mountains, please visit us online. We’re currently offering some of our most outrageous specials ever!

Fun Trips for Kids: 10 Reasons You Need Woodloch Right Now

It’s been a long three months for much of the U.S. populace, as we collectively clashed with COVID-19. After countless hours of relaunch strategy, Woodloch Resort is officially ready to open its doors on June 19, 2020. Woodloch’s Wellness Standard, which is meticulously outlined on the website, makes it possible for families to enjoy all 1,500 acres of gorgeous Pocono Mountain wilderness.

It’s official: The Woodloch experience is back! Everything that you and your family need to know about a potential summer stay can be found via this comprehensive special statement. We’ve examined every last detail of the business to ensure that we provide a safe, limited-contact environment, including everything from activities to rooms and dining. We’re a proud “AHLA Safe Stay,” and together, we can stop the spread. As one of the world’s most beloved trips for kids, we cannot wait to welcome all of your smiling faces this summer and well beyond!

10 Reasons Why You Need Woodloch Now, More Than Ever

While things are certainly going to look and feel a little differently in the coming weeks and months, the overall bonding experience remains the same. Our small village of employees has been providing memorable trips for kids for several decades. This classic Poconos resort is still all-inclusive in every sense of the word. Families can partake in dozens of scheduled (and socially distanced) activities, devour two meals per day, enjoy live nightly entertainment, slumber inside our spacious accommodations, and explore 1,500 acres of sheer natural beauty. So, without further ado, here are 10 reasons why your family needs Woodloch now, more than ever:

  1. There’s never been a better time to rediscover Mother Nature, including her curious critters, still waters, and towering pines.
  2. America needs family bonding that’s achieved outside of the living room. Hike together.  Smash into each other on bumper boats. Learn how to trap shoot together. Paddle together to Lake Teedyuskung’s hearth. Dine out together again.
  3. The family deserves a break. We don’t have to tell you that.
  4. Be a part of something historic. This is a new, untold chapter in all of our lives. This first wave of guests will help shape the way we do business for many years to come.
  5. Everyone, the kids included, need exercise. Put the remote down. Get off the couch. Let’s exercise together in a variety of fun, simplistic ways, including hiking, kayaking, batting, and scavenger hunts.
  6. This is your chance to put down the smartphones, turn off the television, and silence email notifications. Unplug. Unwind. Relax. And Rejuvenate.
  7. That vacation time is starting to pile up. Please don’t lose it. Use it. Americans lost a collective 768 million days of vacation time in 2018. Ouch.
  8. Hopping into the car sure beats boarding a plane and jetting off to an overcrowded faraway locale. In the near future, most trips for kids will be good old-fashioned “road trips.” Gas is cheap. Use that family vehicle to your advantage.
  9. Social distancing comes naturally in the Pocono Mountains. Again, the resort owns 1,500 acres of landscape, including a sandy beach, several hiking trails, a golf course, and a pristine lake.
  10. Prime reservations have been easier to nab. Strike while the iron is hot!

Family-First All-Inclusive Resorts in Pennsylvania

As the number one family resort in the U.S., Woodloch provides a bonding experience unlike any other. As most parents will attest, planning summertime trips for kids is no easy task. It’s hard to get a small group of youngins to agree upon, well, anything. However, everyone can agree on Woodloch’s adventurous allure. We’ll state it again: Strike while the iron is hot. All-inclusive Poconos vacation packages have never been more readily available than right now. And you’ll discover a wide variety of potential 2020-only savings on our website. Please don’t hesitate to reach out at 800-966-3562 with any questions.
